Two free weeks on your own books: how a parallel run works.
A parallel run is the honest way to choose accounting software: run your own month in both systems and compare. With Envytory the two free weeks start when your data is loaded, not the day you sign up. A card holds your spot, nothing is charged during the two weeks, and after them the year is invoiced at the founding price: 500 a month, billed annually, locked. Not a fit? Cancel before the two weeks are up and you pay nothing.
Key takeaways
- The clock starts at data receipt, so the two weeks are spent comparing, not waiting.
- Chart of accounts, owners, decks, wells and history load from your backup or your report exports. Nothing is retyped.
- You run your month in both systems and look at the same owners side by side.
- The founding price is 500 a month, billed annually, for twenty seats, locked for as long as you renew.
What is a parallel run?
You keep running your current system as the system of record, and you run the same month in Envytory beside it. Same entries, same owners, same settlement. At the end you compare: the owner balances, the statements, the checks. A parallel run answers the only question that matters, which is whether the new software reproduces your books, before the old one is switched off.
What do we load, and what do you have to give us?
If your current system can produce a backup file, we load it: the chart of accounts, vendors, purchasers, owners, division of interest decks with their dates, wells, the general ledger history, owner revenue history and suspense. If your system is hosted and there is no backup, we run the report exports with you in one onboarding session and load those instead. Either way you review the load; you do not key it.
What you bring to the session is access and an hour: the exports come out of your system while we are on the call, and the questions that only you can answer get answered then, such as which recurring charges are still active and which owners are held.
What happens during the two weeks?
- Day one: your data is loaded and the clock starts.
- The month: stubs and bills come in through Envytory as drafts; you post them as you would have keyed them.
- The settlement: you propose it in Envytory, review what it would pay and hold, and compare it with your current system's cycle, owner by owner.
- The decision: if the numbers tie and the days were shorter, you keep going. If not, you cancel and pay nothing.
What does it cost after the two weeks?
The founding price is 500 a month, billed annually: the year is invoiced once the two weeks end, and the price is locked for as long as you renew. It covers twenty seats and the full accounting stack: general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, joint interest billing, revenue and production. Twenty founding seats exist; when they are gone, the list price applies to new customers.
What if it is not a fit?
Cancel before the two weeks are up and nothing is charged. The card only ever held your spot. We would rather lose two weeks than sign an operator whose month we did not reproduce.
Questions operators ask
When do the two free weeks start?
When your data is loaded, not when you sign up. The time you spend gathering exports or waiting on us does not count against you.
Is a card required?
Yes, a card holds your spot. Nothing is charged during the two weeks. After them the year is invoiced at 500 a month, billed annually.
What if my system is hosted and has no backup file?
We run the report exports with you in a single onboarding session and load those. It takes longer than a backup, and it works.
Can I cancel?
Cancel before the two weeks are up and you pay nothing. After the year is invoiced, the subscription runs to the end of its term.
